  Vicar General's Office: February 12, 1824 John Meggs of ther Parish of West Ham in the County of Essex a Bachelor of the Age of Twenty one years, and prayed a Licence for the Solemnization of Matrimony in the Parish Church of West Ham aforesaid between him and Eliza Ann Marter on the Parish of All Saints Poplar in the County of Middlesex a Spinster of the Age of Twenty Years but under the Age of Twenty one years ..... and he further made oath that the Consent of Jospeh Marter the natural and Lawful father of the said Eliza Ann Marter hath been obtained to such Marriage.
