"Richard Martyr, Gent & Elizabeth Wigzell, Minor, both of the Parish of Greenwich in Kent were married by Licence in this Church this 30th day of January 1772, by me Edw. Edwards Officiating Minstr. This marriage was solemnized between:
      {Richd Martyr
      {Eliza Wigzellin the presence of
      Ann Martyr
      Catherine Wigzell"

[However, there is another Elizabeth WIGZELL who was baptized at the same church as follows, but the marriage between Elizabeth WIGZELL and Richard MARTYR states that Elizabeth was a Minor and, therefore, under the age of 21 years. The Elizabeth WIGZELL below was baptized in 1748 and would, therefore, have NOT been a Minor in 1772 as she would be aged at least 24 years.]

Below is the 'current' Elizabeth WIGZELL believed to be the wife of Richard MARTYR:

So which Elizabeth married Richard MARTYR? The marriage entry gives the witnesses as Ann MARTYR, (Richard's younger sister) and Catherine WIGZELL who could be either: Elizabeth's WIGZELL's mother, or Catherine the younger sister bap. 07 Jul 1754 also at St Alfege, Greenwich. The fact that Elizabeth was a Minor when she married would mean aged just under 21 years (a Minor) for the Elizabeth b. 1751, or about 18 years (a Minor also) for the Elizabeth b. 1748.

The IGI Individual Record for Richard MARTYR reads:
Marriage: 30th January 1772 at Greenwich, Kent, England.
      Spouse: Elizabeth WIZZELL (sic).
Batch No: 8530431, Sheet 84, Dates: Not given.
